Gigi Hadid wants Zayn Malik — and the world — to know she’s there for him in his time of need.
After Zayn canceled his June 11 show at London’s Capital Summertime Ball at the last minute, the former One Direction singer apologized on Twitter and shared a lengthy explanation for why he did it.
Zayn, 23, revealed that he’s recently “suffered the worst anxiety” of his career.
“Unfortunately, my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the best of me,” Zayn wrote, explaining that he felt it was important to be honest with his fans. “With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my life.”
One day later, Gigi, 21 — who only days ago reconciled with Zayn following a breakup after seven months of dating — took to Twitter to share her support.
Addressing her public note to “@zaynmalik ♥,” the model began,
“Z – I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans.”
“Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real. Human recognizes human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer.”
Her note concluded,
“Those who can find compassion now are the ones that deserve to watch you continue to grow. We are all here to support you and make each experience easier. Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong. Love you and so proud of you always xG.”
