Saturday 27 March was a very special and auspicious day in the life of the Love Sex Aue Dhokha director Dibakar Banerjee.

This Saturday Dibakar and his wife Richa brought home an adopted little daughter. Thus ended months of paper work, interviews and cross-checking before a reputed orphanage in Mumbai allowed the couple the right to adopt a child.

On Saturday as the couple bundled the little girl in their car Dibakar said, “Yes today our adopted daughter is coming home. We’ve named her Ira.We switched off completely from the world over the weekend to get to know our daughter.”

Dibakar has in fact been grappling with the long and winding procedure for adoption while making the quirky and well received Love Sex Aur Dhokha (LSD). He was in and out of the orphanage practically every day even while doing post-production work on his film during the night.

“It has been a stressful time, ” admits the director, “But everything has worked out finally.”

With LSD proving to be a success, it truly the beginning of a new ‘Ira’ for this avant-garde director.

Incidentally Dibakar Banerjee is the second director to adopt a child. Two years ago Nikhil Advani adopted a baby girl Keya. Subhash Ghai too has an adoptive daughter.

  1. lol some of the responses bloggers distribute crack me up, many a time i question if they in actual fact read the articles or blog posts and reports before writing a comment or if perhaps they only just skim the title of the post and write the initial thought that comes to mind. nonetheless, it is really good to read through clever commentary occasionally compared to the same, classic oppinion vomit which i oftentimes notice on the web i’m going to play a smattering of hands of facebook poker farewell
